Tunk Tunk × Sanrio Plush Toys Make Their Debut! Seven Varieties, Including Hello Kitty and Usahana, Unveiled at a Special Event with Amazing Fan Interactions

Posted on July 12, 2026 by Editor in Chief

The GREEN×EXPO Association and the Master License Office (MLO) for the 2027 International Horticultural Exposition will release new “Sanrio Characters” collaboration products on July 10. On the same day, they held a media preview event in Yokohama.

The new lineup features two sizes of plush toys from Asunaro-sha, featuring the adorable “Tunk Tunk”—the official mascot of the Horticultural Expo—hugging a heart tightly. A total of seven character types will be available: Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin, Pochacco, and Usahana—all familiar faces from the Osaka-Kansai Expo.

The sizes include the “BC (ball chain)” size (3,850 yen each), which is easy to take with you on outings and can be attached to a bag, and the “M” size (5,280 yen each), which has a striking presence that makes you want to give it a big hug. They are available at all EXPO 2027 Official Store locations.

Tunk Tunk and Hello Kitty made a special appearance at the media unveiling event, where they joined MLO’s Momoko Date to introduce the M-size plush toys. The design is said to be exquisitely crafted so that it looks as if the character is either hugging its own feelings close or gently offering them to someone else.
