Akafuku will have a booth at the “Summer Keio Sweets Expo,” which will be held from July 17 to 28 at the Grand Exhibition Hall on the 7th floor of the Keio Department Store Shinjuku branch.
In addition to the summer-limited “Akafuku Mizu Yokan” (1 box, 320g, 1,200 yen), the store will also sell items from “Isuzu Chaya”—Akafuku’s Japanese and Western confectionery brand—such as the “Azuki Butter Sandwich” (1 box, 3 pieces, 1,500 yen), “Toki no Yokan: Watermelon” (500 yen each), and “Mochi Dorayaki” (350 yen each).
Akafuku Mizu Yokan is characterized by its “single-pour” method, in which a smooth, silky-textured strained red bean paste made from Hokkaido-grown adzuki beans is poured into a folding box and allowed to set. It is said that when chilled thoroughly, the sweetness blends seamlessly, allowing you to enjoy its refreshing flavor.
The Azuki Butter Sandwich is a fresh confection made by sandwiching a buttercream—blended with Hokkaido-grown azuki beans and domestic butter—between two sablé cookies made with “Ayahikari” wheat from Mie Prefecture. The gentle flavor of the azuki beans harmonizes perfectly with the smoothness of the butter and the aroma of rum.
