Tokyo Metro will hold a scavenger hunt event titled “Chikawa, We’re Looking for You: ‘Chikawa the Movie’ Tokyo Metro Escape Game,” in collaboration with the movie *Chikawa: The Secret of the Mermaid Island*, which opens on July 24. The event will run from July 24 to November 3.
Participants use their own smartphones and the dedicated “ESCAPE.ID” app to solve puzzles while touring stations and neighborhoods along the Tokyo Metro lines, searching for the missing Chikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi. The “Puzzle-Solving Kit,” which is required to play, costs 3,300 yen. Pre-orders will begin on July 10 via a special website, and the kit will also be available at designated retail locations starting July 24.
In conjunction with the event, the “‘Chikawa the Movie’ Tokyo Metro Original 24-Hour Pass” will also go on sale. The set includes one adult 24-hour pass and a special card holder, priced at 1,500 yen. Only 40,000 sets will be available (limited to five sets per person), and applications will be accepted exclusively through a dedicated website starting July 10.
