Tokyo Metro Ginza Line to Implement Special Schedule for the Sumida River Fireworks Festival; 96 Additional Trains to Asakusa and Shibuya

In conjunction with the “Sumida River Fireworks Festival” on July 25, Tokyo Metro will add a total of 96 extra trains on the Ginza Line.

One of Tokyo’s largest fireworks festivals, featuring a total of approximately 20,000 fireworks launched from two venues along the Sumida River, which spans Taito and Sumida wards. To improve convenience for spectators, the Ginza Line will operate 44 additional trains bound for Asakusa and 52 additional trains bound for Shibuya between 14:00 and 22:00 on the day of the event.

Trains bound for Asakusa will run at 2- to 3-minute intervals from around 2:00 p.m. until the start of the fireworks display, while trains bound for Shibuya will run at 2- to 3-minute intervals from around 7:00 p.m. to around 10:00 p.m. Please note that if the fireworks display is canceled due to severe weather or other reasons, these special trains may be suspended.
