Tickets for the “78th Lake Suwa Festival Lake Fireworks Display” will go on sale via a second lottery starting July 13. Highlights include a spectacular star mine display that echoes off the mountains, and more.

The Secretariat of the Lake Suwa Festival Executive Committee in Nagano Prefecture will hold the “78th Lake Suwa Festival Lake Fireworks Display” on August 15. The event will take place on Lake Suwa in front of Lakeside Park in Suwa City, starting at 7:00 p.m. (The event will be held rain or shine.)

This historic fireworks festival began in 1949 as a symbol of postwar reconstruction and hope. It is known for its signature “Water Star Mine” display, among other attractions, and is characterized by the sheer scale of the event—tens of thousands of fireworks launched from platforms on the water’s surface. The thunderous booms echo off the surrounding mountains, creating a breathtaking spectacle that shakes you to your core.

The paid viewing areas include the “Central Area,” which offers a direct view of the fireworks; the “Lakeside Area” and “Stone Sculpture Area” on either side of it; and the “Food Court Area,” where visitors can enjoy the event while dining nearby. For example, lakeside seating costs 8,500 yen, and Food Court seating is 4,000 yen, among others.

Due to high demand, the number of remaining tickets is subject to change; however, general sales (for the second lottery) will be accepted on the dedicated “Ticket Pia” page from July 13 to 19. Results will be announced via email starting at 6:00 p.m. on July 22.

Please check the tournament’s official website for details.
