The Kurobe Gorge Railway will resume full-line operations of its open-air train between Unazuki Station and Keyakidaira Station starting October 1.
In the area around Keyakidaira Station, restricted access zones have been established due to restoration work on the downstream slopes and retaining walls. It has been announced that, for the time being starting in October, areas other than the Keyakidaira Station building and the Visitor Center will remain off-limits. To ensure safety and alleviate congestion around the station, the number of passengers on trains bound for Keyakidaira Station will be limited (return trips are available without a reservation).
Reservations for trips on or after September 1 will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 9:00 a.m. on July 8 (reservations can be made up to three months in advance of the travel date). The 2026 season runs through November 30. Same-day tickets will be sold at the Unazuki Station ticket window starting at 7:40 a.m. each day, subject to availability.
The method for making advance reservations varies depending on the travel section: for the section between Unazuki Station and Kurogane Station or Kanetsuri Station, reservations can be made online or by phone; for the section between Unazuki Station and Keyakidaira Station (starting October 1), reservations can be made by phone only.
Please note that starting October 1, passengers will be able to board and disembark at Unazuki Station, Kurogane Station, Kanetsuri Station, and Keyakidaira Station; boarding and disembarking at Nekomata Station—which serves as the turnaround point until September 30—will no longer be possible.
