The 55th Anniversary “Mini Sanrio Series,” which captures the world of Sanrio shops in miniature, goes on sale July 15

Posted on July 9, 2026 by Editor in Chief

Sanrio will release all 25 items in the “Mini Sanrio Series,” commemorating the 55th anniversary of Sanrio Shops, on July 15. The items will be available at Sanrio-operated stores nationwide, Sanrio corners in department stores, and the Sanrio Online Shop.

Since opening its first store, “Shinjuku Gift Gate,” in Shinjuku, Tokyo, in 1971, the brand has expanded to approximately 150 locations nationwide. This collection recreates the brand’s unique atmosphere in miniature form. The lineup includes “Mascot Holders” (6 varieties, 2,200 yen each) featuring characters wearing the same aprons as the shop staff, “Shop Bag-Style Pouches” (6 varieties, 1,650 yen each) inspired by the store’s historic shopping bags, and the “Collection Display Shelf” (3,498 yen), which allows you to arrange items just like in a store.

In addition, items inspired by specific store fixtures and staple products will be available, such as the “Checkout Basket-Style Trinket Box” (792 yen)—a scaled-down version of the baskets used at store registers—and the “Secret Mini Stationery-Shaped Magnets” (8 varieties total, 880 yen each) from the Random Goods line.

As part of a related campaign, on July 23, the company will release the “Gal-Style MAX Design Series” (19 items total), which incorporates a nostalgic style from around the year 2000. Additionally, until August 23, it will operate themed stores at nine locations nationwide, offering photo spots and TikTok effects that let customers experience the Heisei-era gal culture.

On August 5, the company will also release the “Wrapping Paper Design Series” (featuring 19 items, including a tote bag for 2,200 yen), inspired by wrapping paper, as well as the “Pick-Your-Own Plush Toy & Gift Can Set” (3,993 yen each), which allows customers to choose the contents.

To coincide with these product launches, starting July 23, customers who spend 1,100 yen or more at company-owned stores and other locations will receive a ribbon sticker, and starting August 5, those who spend 3,300 yen or more will receive a paper bag—both on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please check the official website for details on each product and event.
