I checked out the first day of merchandise sales for the Myaku Myaku Tigers, which also featured a photo session where fans could take pictures with the team. The merchandise, featuring the team’s running, hitting, and fielding players in their Hanshin Tigers uniforms, included pins, towels, and plush toys.

On June 30, the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo Master Licensing Office (2025MLO) began selling the “EXPO 2025 Official Licensed Merchandise 2026 Edition,” created in collaboration with the Hanshin Tigers.

On the same day, at the “EXPO 2025 Official Store Hanshin Umeda Main Store” on the second floor of the Hanshin Umeda Main Store, “Myaku Myaku,” the official mascot of the Osaka-Kansai World Expo, made an appearance, and a photo session with customers who made a purchase was held.

The merchandise features designs of Myaku Myaku wearing a Hanshin Tigers uniform. The designs are based on the three key aspects of baseball—running, hitting, and fielding—and depict Myaku Myaku holding a bat, positioning a glove, and stepping on home plate. The collection also includes items that combine the Hanshin Tigers’ signature yellow and black colors, vertical stripes, and the team logo.

There are 17 items in total. The lineup includes clear file folders, 3D keychains with straps, mascots with carabiners, plush toys, pins, face towels, and scarf towels. Prices are as follows: clear file folders are 440 yen each; 3D keychains with straps are 1,430 yen each; mascots with carabiners are 4,290 yen each; plush toys are 5,280 yen each; pins are 825 yen each; face towels are 2,200 yen each; scarf towels are 1,980 yen each. Please note that face towels and scarf towels are scheduled to go on sale at a later date.

The clear file folders come in two colors: white and yellow. The keychain mascots and plush toys are available in three designs: home, visitor, and black. The pins come in four designs: batter, runner, megaphone, and Marutora. Face towels are available in striped and black, while scarf towels come in white and yellow.

Products are available at the EXPO 2025 Official Online Store, all EXPO 2025 Official Stores and Official Pop-Up Stores, the Hanshin Tigers Official Shop, the Hanshin Tigers Official Online Shop “T-SHOP,” Team Shop Alps, and other locations.

Product quantities are limited and may sell out. Purchase limits may apply, and the products available and sales periods may vary by store. The online store began sales at 10:00 a.m. on the same day. Sales of some products will begin at a later date.

The photo session at the Hanshin Umeda Main Store was held twice, at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM. Each session was limited to 15 people, for a total of 30 participants. At the EXPO 2025 Official Store at Hanshin Umeda Main Store, the first 200 customers who made a purchase of 5,500 yen or more—including Hanshin Tigers collaboration merchandise—were given a raffle ticket, and winners were selected to participate.

For this collaborative product, the Hanshin Umeda Main Store expressed interest in carrying it as the project progressed, and sales at that store were subsequently arranged.

Taiga Yamanouchi, Assistant Buyer in the Seasonal Goods and Accessories Sales Department at Hankyu Hanshin Department Store’s Hanshin Umeda Main Store, said, “While we’ve had many Tigers fans visiting the store, since the EXPO 2025 Official Store opened in April, we’ve also been welcoming Myaku Myaku fans. I believed this product would appeal to both groups of customers, so I made a point of requesting that we stock it.”

In terms of design, we’ve created Myaku Myaku figures not only in the home uniform but also in the away uniform. This was done to make it easier for people who visited Osaka for the World Expo and became fans of the Hanshin Tigers, as well as fans watching away games outside the Osaka area, to choose the right items. Another key feature is that fans can select products that match the jerseys and accessories they usually wear when cheering on the team.

When Myaku Myaku appeared on the sales floor, shoppers holding smartphones gathered around it. People lined up along the aisle to take photos, enjoying the in-store event held to celebrate the launch of the collaboration products with the Hanshin Tigers.

At the photo session, the selected customers lined up one by one with Myaku Myaku and took commemorative photos under the guidance of staff. On the sales floor, some customers were seen picking up Myaku Myaku merchandise featuring designs inspired by the Hanshin Tigers’ uniforms.

Regarding the response on the first day of sales, Mr. Yamanouchi said he sensed the high level of enthusiasm among shoppers. Noting that he saw many smiling faces among the customers, he expressed his desire to continue creating a shopping environment that encourages customers to choose Hanshin Department Store, including through its product selection and customer service.

Furthermore, while there are EXPO 2025 Official Stores in various locations, Hanshin Department Store places great importance on differentiating itself. Mr. Yamanouchi stated, “We believe it is important to differentiate ourselves in a way that makes customers think, ‘I want to go to Hanshin Department Store’ and ‘I want to have fun at Hanshin Department Store,’” and expressed his intention to move forward with experiential initiatives featuring Myaku Myaku’s in-store appearances and the expansion of products available exclusively at the Hanshin Umeda Main Store.

The EXPO 2025 Official Store at Hanshin Umeda Main Store is located in the seasonal goods and accessories section on the second floor of the Hanshin Umeda Main Store. Business hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
