“Atre Nakano” Opens at JR Nakano Station on December 9. Directly Connected to the New Ticket Gates, 70 Stores—Including a Large Variety Store and a Rooftop BBQ Area—Open for Business

Posted on July 9, 2026 by Editor in Chief

Atre announced that it plans to open “Atre Nakano,” the new station building at JR Nakano Station, on December 9. The facility will be located adjacent to the north-south passageway and the new station building—which JR East and others are currently constructing above the tracks on the west side of Nakano Station—and will serve as a commercial complex directly connected to the new ticket gates.

The building has five stories above ground, with a total floor area of approximately 16,800 square meters, and houses about 70 stores. On the second floor, which is directly connected to the new ticket gates, there are a variety of shops offering sweets, prepared foods, and light meals with dine-in options. The third floor will feature clothing stores for both men and women, as well as restaurants that are easily accessible to women and groups with children, while the fourth floor will house a large variety store and a bookstore. Furthermore, the top floor—the fifth floor—will feature a rooftop BBQ facility where visitors can bring their own food, as well as a rooftop plaza open to all visitors.

Currently, Nakano Ward, the Urban Renaissance Agency (UR), and JR East are collaborating on a large-scale redevelopment of the area around Nakano Station, and the opening of Atre Nakano is part of that urban development initiative.

At Atre Nakano, guided by the “Blend N—Something New When You Mix It” concept—which embodies the three “N”s of providing local residents (NEIGHBOR) with novelty (NEW) and necessities (NEED)—we aim to become a highly convenient facility that enriches daily life as Nakano’s new gateway.
