A Look at “MUJI Ginza” as It Celebrates Its 7th Anniversary. From travel essentials to international restaurants, here’s a roundup of the highlights on each floor.

In addition, we’ll cover the latest trends on the “Clothing,” “Food,” and “Home” floors—including the “MUJI Diner” restaurant on the B1 level, which became even more appealing following its 2025 renovation, and the “MUJI Coffee & Bakery” on the first floor, where the aroma of freshly baked croissants fills the air—places you’ll want to stop by while preparing for your trip.

Particularly eye-catching is the travel goods section (4th floor), which is on an overwhelming scale. We’ll introduce some of the thoughtful touches unique to brick-and-mortar stores that cater to shoppers, such as a section where they can thoroughly test out actual suitcases.

4th Floor: Travel Goods—Sales Up 2.5 Times! A Spectacular Sight with About 140 Suitcases on Display

On the fourth floor, what really catches the eye is the neatly arranged display of suitcases. Since fiscal year 2023, when inbound tourism demand began to fully recover, sales of travel goods have surged to 2.5 times the previous year’s level.

Travel goods (MUJI to GO) are one of the categories the Ginza store is focusing on, and as a symbol of this momentum, the sales floor features approximately 140 suitcases, including the latest “2026 model” and “MUJI Labo” products.

The Ginza store places the greatest emphasis on a display that makes it “easy to compare” products, with all sizes—from 20L to 105L—arranged at the front. According to Nanako Mori, the 4th-floor floor manager, there is a reason for this that is unique to the flagship store.

“Since the largest size—105L—is available only in basic colors, we’ve arranged the display so that customers can first compare the size and volume on the front, and then choose from the variety of models available in multiple colors—such as the 36L and 75L—on the shelves at the back,” said Mr. Mori.

The sales trends for the “hard-sided carry-on cases”—unique to the Ginza store—are also interesting. While the “black 36L” model, which is carry-on size, remains the undisputed top seller at stores nationwide and the online store, large sizes such as the “black 75L/105L” models are reportedly selling very well at the Ginza store.

Not only is it popular for its light weight—5.1 kg (105 L)—and simple design, but it also seems to reflect the unique circumstances of a store that attracts many international tourists, where customers often pack the many souvenirs they’ve bought in Ginza right there on the spot before heading home.

Other creative touches in the sales area include displays that recreate real-life usage scenarios and luggage racks like those commonly found in hotel rooms. This allows customers to actually open and pull out the carry-on bags that catch their eye, giving them a chance to thoroughly test their size and usability.

There are also examples on display of how to pack using sorting bins and other items, designed so that visitors can see at a glance how to pack their belongings.

Being able to actually handle the products and choose the one that’s just right for you while visualizing your travel plans in concrete terms is one of the great things about shopping at a physical store, where you can enjoy the experience of visiting in person.
