Universal Studios Japan’s summer event, “Universal Summer Matsuri Night ~Neon Grow Up~,” will be held from July 1 to August 26. This summer, the entire park will transform into a “night festival,” and details have been released ahead of schedule for two major night-only greeting shows that suddenly draw guests into the action right on the streets.
First up is the evening show “Minion BOO-YA Block Party,” held twice daily (starting at 6:55 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.) for 20 minutes each on the stage in front of the American diner “Mel’s Drive-In.” Making his debut this time, “DJ Stuart” will cheerfully spin a selection of ’80s electro-pop tracks.
In addition, Kevin and Bob will take the stage to perform the slightly silly and fun “BOO-YA Dance” alongside the dancers. With its fun call-and-response chants and choreography, this dance gets guests dancing along to the upbeat music and really gets the party going.
Another event is the “Hello! Neon Summer Greeting,” held three times a day (6:55 p.m., 7:45 p.m., and 8:35 p.m.) on “Green Street,” the tree-lined avenue in the Hollywood area, with each session lasting about 15 minutes. Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel, dressed up in colorful yukata, will make an appearance at this evening-only greeting event.
Guests can enjoy dancing with Hello Kitty and the performers, and there will also be a meet-and-greet session where they can pose for photo-worthy shots while holding summer-themed glowing neon items and panels. This is a must-see program for fans, offering the chance to create dazzling memories unique to the park from evening through the night.
