Tokushima Prefecture has announced the planned flight path for the Japan Air Self-Defense Force’s “Blue Impulse” team, which will perform on July 19 as part of the “Komatsushima Port Festival 2026”—an event commemorating the 75th anniversary of Komatsushima City’s establishment—in the southeastern coastal region of Tokushima Prefecture.
The flight is scheduled to last approximately 20 minutes, from 12:20 p.m. to 12:40 p.m. It will traverse a wide area stretching from Cape Kamoda in the south to the area above the Great Naruto Bridge in the north, covering the entire length of Tokushima Prefecture. However, the route and schedule are subject to change depending on weather conditions and other factors on the day of the flight.
The prefecture is urging people to spread out when watching the event to help alleviate crowding and traffic congestion and prevent accidents. It is expected that the flight path can be viewed clearly from open, safe locations near people’s homes, and because traffic congestion is anticipated at major viewing spots and on surrounding roads, the prefecture is asking people to use public transportation.
Furthermore, we strongly urge people to absolutely refrain from parking or entering parking lots at commercial facilities or private property without permission, as well as stopping or parking on the road, as these actions cause inconvenience to local residents and obstruct the passage of emergency vehicles.
