On June 11, NEXCO Central Japan and Toyota Real Estate announced that they would collaborate on the development and operation of the “Oyama Parking Area (PA) (tentative name) (Upper Lanes),” currently under construction on the Shin-Tomei Expressway (E1A).
The site is located in Ōmikami, Oyama Town, Sunto District, Shizuoka Prefecture, between the Shin-Hadano IC and Shin-Gotemba IC on the Shin-Tomei Expressway (approximately 4 km east of Shin-Gotemba IC), with a planned site area of approximately 20,000 m². In the vicinity of this rest area, Toyota Real Estate and others are currently developing “Fuji Motorsports Forest,” a complex where visitors can enjoy motorsports and mobility experiences. Koyama PA and the planned “Koyama Smart IC (tentative name)” are intended to serve as key gateways to this facility.
NEXCO Central Japan will be responsible for the overall operation and management of the rest area, as well as providing light food and beverage options and retail goods for short-term visitors, while Toyota Real Estate will develop dining facilities and relaxing outdoor spaces, as well as a hub for promoting motorsports and the attractions of the Oyama region.
Specific details regarding the facilities and stores, as well as the opening dates, have not yet been determined and will be announced at a later date.
