JAL’s “Amami Islands Island-Hopping Discount.” Stay overnight on an island and get up to 20,000 yen off per person, plus 5,000 yen worth of local coupons.

Posted on June 30, 2026 by Editor in Chief

This offer provides a discount of up to 20,000 yen per person on travel costs for a total of five islands: Amami Oshima and Tokunoshima—both World Natural Heritage sites in Kagoshima Prefecture—as well as Yoron Island, Kikaijima, and Okinoerabu Island. The sales period runs from June 16 to December 15, and the eligible travel period covers departures from June 28 to December 25 (including returns by January 7, 2027; departures from July 18 to August 13 are excluded). Applications will be accepted up to 10 days prior to departure.

If you stay at least one night on any of Kikai Island, Tokunoshima, Okinoerabu Island, or Yoron Island, and your travel cost per person is 40,000 yen or more, you will receive a 15,000-yen discount.

2-Island Tour

For trips to any five of the six islands listed above (including Amami Oshima), a 20,000-yen discount applies if you use different airports for the outbound and return flights, stay at least one night within the archipelago, and the total travel cost is 45,000 yen or more per person.

Each tour is available for 1 to 6 people; toddlers are not eligible. Additionally, participants who complete a pre-departure questionnaire will receive a 5,000-yen electronic payment voucher, the “Amami Islands Island-Hopping Discount Coupon,” which can be used at participating stores in the area.

As a means of transportation between the islands, we are also introducing a new add-on option—the “One-Week Unlimited Ferry Pass”—which allows travelers to move freely among the four islands of the Amami Archipelago.
