The Pola Museum of Art (1285 Kozukayama, Sengokuhara, Hakone-machi, Ashigarashimo-gun, Kanagawa Prefecture) will release two types of handkerchiefs on June 17 as part of its first collaboration with the German Schniir weaving brand “FEILER.”
These items feature original designs inspired by the museum’s collection of Claude Monet’s *Water Lilies* and Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s *Anemones*, and are priced at 3,520 yen each. To coincide with the exhibition “A New Perspective: Monet and 21st-Century Art,” commemorating the 100th anniversary of Monet’s death and the museum’s 25th anniversary, the items will be available at the museum shop and online starting on the same day.
The handkerchiefs measure approximately 25 × 25 cm. For each piece, colors were selected from a palette of 130 shades of thread, and the delicate weaving captures the atmosphere of the famous paintings. “Water Lilies” can be viewed at the exhibition “New Eyes: Monet and 21st-Century Art,” while “Anemones” is on display at the concurrent collection exhibition “Cézanne: The Legend.”
