Enjoy “Festival Food” at Universal Studios Japan This Summer! Try the delicious chocolate banana churros, and starting at 4:00 p.m., get double the meat and noodles for the same price!

Universal Studios Japan will kick off its summer-only event, “Universal Summer Matsuri Night: Neon Grow Up,” on July 1.

This summer’s theme is “Night Festival.” The grab-and-go food items sold throughout the park feature visually appealing dishes that are reimagined versions of the classic food stall menus found at Japanese festivals.

The highlight is the “Super!! Choco-Banana Churros” (900 yen), topped with creamy chocolate sauce and colorful toppings, and the “Curry Naan!? Yakisoba Dog” (1,200 yen), which features classic yakisoba sandwiched between spicy curry-flavored naan and topped with pickled red ginger, sauerkraut, and a generous helping of mayonnaise.

The Chocolate Banana Turitos, in particular, are such a masterpiece that even guests who tried them on the very day of their release were quick to exclaim, “The best ever!” The crispy banana chips pair perfectly with the rich, gooey chocolate sauce that fills the center.

Drinks and desserts also feature creative touches that capture the spirit of a summer festival. The “Summer Festival Goldfish Lemon Soda” (900 yen), featuring a vibrant goldfish floating in the drink, and the “Strawberry Condensed Milk Soda Smoothie” (900 yen) come with a special “Neon Cup” set that glows in seven colors (850 yen each), allowing you to enjoy them as illuminating decorations to carry around the park at night.

All of the items listed above are available at “Universal Market” (New York Area), which faces the lagoon, so we recommend taking your time to enjoy them while cooling off on a bench by the lake.

In addition, as an evening-only promotion starting at 4:00 p.m., select restaurants will offer the “Heaping Special,” where the portion sizes of popular hamburger patties, the fries that come with burrito sets, and the noodles in cold noodle dishes will be doubled at the regular price. Sales will begin on July 6 for annual pass holders and on July 13 for general guests.

This lineup offers both quality and quantity that will fully replenish the energy you’ve expended at the summer’s festive events.
