Docomo × JAL Mobile’s “powered by ahamo” plan, which offers no additional charges even when abroad, launches today. Get 5,000 miles when switching carriers (MNP).

On June 25, JAL and NTT Docomo launched “JAL Mobile powered by ahamo.”

The “Miles to Somewhere” domestic award ticket program normally requires 7,000 miles, but mobile subscribers can use it once a year for just 1,500 miles (effectively a 78% discount). In addition to retaining JAL Mobile’s standard features—such as earning JAL miles for new contracts and continued service, and accumulating one LSP (Life Status Point) per month—a unique advantage of the “powered by ahamo” service is the ability to use international data without additional charges.

Unlike the existing IIJmio version of JAL Mobile, the only available plan is a 30GB plan for 2,970 yen per month. Domestic calls of 5 minutes or less are free, and the activation fee is 2,200 yen. The benefits are as follows.
