ANA to further raise fuel surcharges for tickets issued in July and August. Even with special exemptions, the surcharge will be 40,400 yen for Hawaii and 65,000 yen for North America and Europe.

ANA announced that it will revise the “special fuel surcharge” applicable to international flight tickets issued between July 1 and August 31.

ANA’s fuel surcharge is determined every two months based on the average price of kerosene in the Singapore market over the previous two months. Based on the average price for the period from April 1 to May 31, which serves as the basis for this calculation, the level reached would normally have triggered the application of the “28,000 yen or more but less than 29,000 yen” tier, which was newly established in response to the sharp rise in fuel prices; however, however, due to the mitigating effect of the government’s emergency measures to ease the impact of the sudden price surge in light of the situation in the Middle East, the “25,000 yen or more but less than 26,000 yen” tier—three levels lower—was applied as a special exception.

While prices had already increased by about 1.5 to 2 times as of the previous round (tickets issued in May–June), this time an additional surcharge of up to 9,000 yen per one-way trip (for destinations such as Europe and North America) will be applied.

The revised fuel surcharge per passenger per one-way segment is as follows. The same rate applies to adults, children, and infants occupying a seat, and the same amount applies when using ANA Mileage Club award tickets (infants under 2 years of age who do not occupy a seat are exempt).
