NAA (Narita International Airport), Keisei Electric Railway, JR East, and Narita Airport Express have announced that they will carry out renovations at “Airport Building No. 2 Station,” which is directly connected to Terminal 2, to alleviate congestion. They aim to begin operations in the first half of fiscal year 2028.
The current Airport Terminal 2 Station faces several challenges due to the increase in inbound travelers, including overcrowding on the Keisei Line platforms, the presence of double ticket gates, and congestion in the concourse beyond the ticket gates.
This renovation includes “changes to passenger flow,” such as modifying ticket gate entrances and exits and eliminating double ticket gates, “relocation of ticket counters and vending machines,” such as expanding the area outside the ticket gates; “creation of waiting areas and lively spaces” through the removal of inspection counters and glass doors; and “optimization of wayfinding signage” to facilitate smooth movement—all aimed at improving clarity and comfort.
