A water play area has opened at “Asakusa Hanayashiki.” For 800 yen, you can play as much as you want—with attractions like a maze and water gun games—and the “Water Splash Squad” is on hand to make sure you get soaked!

Japan’s oldest amusement park, “Asakusa Hanayashiki” (2-28-1 Asakusa, Taito Ward, Tokyo), will open a new summer-only area called “Water Play Plaza” in the park’s “Panda Car Plaza.” The area will be open from July 19 to September 14.

By purchasing the “Water Play Area All-Day Pass” for 800 yen per adult or child (free for children 4 and under), you can enter and exit as many times as you like. The area features three interactive attractions: the “Beetle & Stag Beetle Maze,” where you make your way through a mist; “Penguin Hover Ball,” where you aim water guns at targets; and “Bubble Car Wash,” where you’re sprayed with water and blown by wind, just like in a car wash.

Also, starting July 1, the official ticket website will begin selling the “One-Day Pass with Water Play Area,” an advance-sale-only ticket that offers admission plus unlimited rides at a 300-yen discount from the regular price (5,100 yen for adults; 3,900 yen for children and seniors).

At the park’s event space, “Flower Stage,” the interactive Bon dance show “Hana Hana Bon Dance” will be held twice daily (at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.) from July 18 to August 31. During the show, there will also be a “Water Sprinkling Festival” performance, in which water is sprayed all at once toward the audience.

In addition, during this period, the “Hanayashiki Water Splashing Squad!”—staff members who go around spraying visitors with refreshing water—will appear twice a day (at 2:00 p.m. and at another time to be announced on the day) in various locations throughout the park, helping to keep the entire amusement park cool.
