JAL, CALM, the Beyond AI Technology Research Association, and Ultra FreakOut will conduct a pilot test of a high-precision, real-time virtual try-on system. The pilot will run from July 10 to August 31.
The “JAL SKY MUSEUM” (3-5-1 Haneda Airport, Ota-ku, Tokyo) has launched an initiative that allows visitors not only to view its collection of historic uniforms but also to virtually “try them on.” CALM oversaw the overall coordination of the project, which combines real-time virtual try-on technology from the BAI Association with digital signage from Ultra FreakOut.
A key feature of this technology is that it adapts to the wearer’s movements, providing a realistic visual representation of how the garment looks from any angle and during any movement. It also realistically recreates details such as the wrinkles that form when the wearer raises their arms and the way the hem flares out.
The uniforms on display include the fifth- and sixth-generation flight attendant uniforms, as well as the current uniforms worn by flight crew and maintenance technicians. Photos and videos taken during the experience can be downloaded to your smartphone and shared on social media.
