Edogawa Ward, Tokyo and the Executive Committee will hold the 51st Edogawa Ward Fireworks Festival on August 1. The venue is the Edogawa riverbed (1-25-1 Kamishinozaki, Edogawa-ku, Tokyo), and the event will be held from 19:15 to 20:20. In case of inclement weather, the event will be cancelled and will not be postponed.
The festival will launch approximately 14,000 fireworks, including Edogawa’s famous 5-second 1,000-shot opening display and the world’s tallest fireworks display, the “Fuji no Okkikake”. The fireworks display is characterized by its multi-layered, thick pyrotechnics.
The climax of the festival will be the famous “Furious Kin-Kamuro,” which will be shot high into the sky, and the 51st event will feature music fireworks with background music based on the image of the 100th event, as well as other unprecedented fireworks effects.
Tickets for paid admission are available through the dedicated Rakuten Ticket website, and lottery sales for Edogawa Ward residents only will be held from May 30 to June 7, 23:59 (lottery results will be notified by e-mail sequentially after June 9, 18:00).
General sales will be on a first-come, first-served basis, with the first call for applications from 12:00 p.m. on June 13 to 11:59 p.m. on July 5, and the second call from 12:00 p.m. on July 6 to 11:59 p.m. on July 28 (tickets will be sold as soon as they are gone).
The price ranges for paid spectator tickets include chair seats (for one person) 5,000 yen to 9,000 yen, blue seat seats (for two people) 12,000 yen to 15,000 yen, blue seats (for four people) 20,000 yen to 26,000 yen, and blue seat seats (for one person) 2,000 yen to 4,000 yen.
