JAL and Tokyo Disney Resort will launch the “JAL Jubilee Express,” a specially painted aircraft, on domestic routes on June 4. On June 3, the day before departure, a ceremonial event was held at the JAL hangar at Haneda Airport.
This initiative commemorates the Tokyo DisneySea 25th Anniversary “Sparkling Jubilee,” an anniversary event at Tokyo DisneySea. This will be the seventh tie-up between the two companies’ specially painted planes.
Mr. Norimasa Aoki, Executive Vice President and Group CCO of JAL, made opening remarks at the ceremony. JAL has been an official sponsor of Tokyo Disneyland since its opening. We have been connecting people, goods, and feelings through transportation. We value the dreams and hopes of each of our customers and hope to always be there to support their dreams.
We hope that the beautiful and exciting design of the JAL Jubilee Express will provide you with a moment when you see it at the airport, when it soars through the clouds into the blue sky, and when your heart gently lifts, We will connect the best entertainment created by Oriental Land with the best entertainment in the sky. Through this powerful partnership, we will bring smiles and brilliance to the skies over Japan,” he said enthusiastically.
The aircraft is a Boeing 737-800 (registration code: JA339J), which was operated from July 2013 to March 2014 as the “JAL Happiness Express,” a specially painted aircraft for the 30th anniversary of Tokyo Disney Resort.
The exterior of the aircraft is based on the theme color of the 25th anniversary event, “Jubilee Blue,” and depicts Mickey Mouse and his Disney friends in special costumes, as well as the Aquasphere and Prometheus Volcano, the symbol of the park.
There will be a total of 165 seats (20 Class J and 145 standard seats). The headrest covers and paper cups (three random types) will be specially designed, and the in-flight melody played during boarding and deplaning will be “Come Join the Jubilee,” the theme song for the 25th anniversary event. While waiting for your seat or in the aisle, you can enjoy the excitement of waiting in line for the attractions at the park.
In addition, as a commemorative gift, each passenger will receive one proof-of-boarding sticker per boarding. There are three different designs on the front (the back is the same), and distribution will be at random. The paper cup and sticker are limited in quantity, and the headrest cover cannot be taken home.
The first JAL Jubilee Express flight will be JL625 from Haneda to Kumamoto at 08:00 on June 4. The service will operate on domestic routes to/from Haneda and Shin-Chitose for a limited time until around April 2027. The specific flight schedule will be announced on JAL’s official website “Flight Status Information (Domestic Routes)” around the evening of the day before the flight.
