JAL Mobile launched an international eSIM that earns miles on June 1. JAL Mobile members earn 5 miles for every 100 yen spent on service fees (non-members earn 3 miles per 100 yen).
The service is provided by IIJ and is available in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Payment is accepted via various credit and debit cards, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay. Setup and technical support are available via Japanese chat.
Prices vary by country, region, and duration, but for example, in Seoul, South Korea, “3 days/1 GB” costs 1,200 yen, and “7 days/3 GB” costs 1,500 yen. In North America, “3 days/1 GB” costs 1,100 yen, and “7 days/3 GB” costs 1,400 yen, and so on.
