Kasok has opened RHUMB LINE TOKYO (1-8-3 Yaesu, Chuo-ku, Tokyo), an apartment hotel just a minute walk from Tokyo Station.
The name “RHUMB LINE TOKYO” is derived from the nautical term “Rhumb line,” which means a fixed-angle route to a destination without getting lost. Located just a minute’s walk from the Yaesu Exit of Tokyo Station, the heart of Japan’s transportation network, the name reflects the company’s desire to be a “key point of travel” to the next destination.
The 30 guest rooms range in size from 32m2 to 58m2, and each room can accommodate up to 8 people. To meet the needs of inbound travelers and those staying for medium- to long-term stays, all rooms are equipped with full-scale kitchens, refrigerators, washer/dryers, and other appliances, as well as tableware and cooking utensils.
In-room fixtures and amenities include original loungewear made of natural materials that help regulate body temperature and support good sleep, slippers made with Japanese craftsmanship, and hangers and cups made from recycled materials.
The second-floor Ukiyo-e bar “BAR36,” open to non-guests, was inspired by Hokusai Katsushika’s “36 Views of Mount Fuji. It offers tea, local sake, and Japanese sweets related to the regions depicted in the ukiyo-e, and behind the counter, seasonal ukiyo-e are always on display. At the grand opening, the restaurant will start with six different pairing sets in collaboration with tea gardens, sake breweries, and Japanese confectionary stores in various regions, and plans call for the gradual development of a total of 36 different views in the future.
BAR36 also offers experience programs exclusively for hotel guests. Guests can experience matcha (powdered green tea), Japanese tea drinking and ukiyo-e viewing, and ukiyo-e postcards for free anytime during business hours from 10:00 to 23:00.
