On May 8, Intermestic, which operates Zoff, released the Galileo S01 K, an all-rubber eyeglass model for kids that uses no metal whatsoever.
Priced at 11,100 yen including set lenses, the lineup consists of three models in three colors and nine types. The colorful color variations and thicker hinges, which are not available in the “Galileo S01” for adults, are said to be “designed for active children.
The Galileo series has undergone various durability tests through an inspection agency, and even after a heat resistance test at 120°C for one hour, no color/shape change or embrittlement occurred, and no stickiness, deformation, or alteration occurred after immersion in ethanol solution (77%) for 24 hours. In addition, although the lenses came off in the press test, they could be refitted and worn, and the separately sold Galileo lenses did not break even when a steel ball weighing approximately 1 kg was dropped from a height of 1 m.
