Tokai Kisen Line has extended the “Hachijojima Reconstruction Support Ticket” until the end of June! Hachijojima Reconstruction Support Ticket” until the end of June.
This special ticket was introduced as a campaign for the reconstruction of Tokyo and Hachijojima, which was damaged by a typhoon last fall. Initially, the tickets were available until March 31, but during March, additional tickets were added until May 31 (except for departures between April 24 and May 5).
Furthermore, since the “Shimapo Currency,” a premium-priced lodging travel gift certificate that can be used in Tokyo’s island areas and 11 islands, has gone on sale, it was decided to extend the program until June 30, 2011 for return trips.
The price is 13,000 yen (6,500 yen for children) for a round trip from Takeshiba, Tokyo to Hachijojima, valid for four days including the day of departure, and a 1,000 yen (500 yen for children) increase for the round trip compared to the return trip at the end of May.
The round-trip flights are limited to 2nd class Japanese-style cabins on large passenger ships, and no grade changes or rank upgrades are possible. Reservations can be made at the Tokai Kisen Customer Center (telephone number) from the same day two months prior to the boarding date until the day before the boarding date.
The outbound flight departs Tokyo at 22:30 and arrives at Hachijojima at 8:55 the following day. The return flight departs Hachijojima at 9:40 a.m. and arrives in Tokyo at 7:50 p.m.
