On May 19, Nippon Sharyo announced that it will make the first shipment of new high-speed railcars for Taiwan, for which it received an order from Hitachi, Ltd.
The cars to be shipped this time are part of the 12 trains and 144 cars ordered by HTSC (Hitachi Toshiba Supreme Consortium), a consortium formed by Hitachi, Toshiba, and others, from Taiwan High Speed Rail, and manufactured by Nippon Sharyo. The completed cars are based on JR Tokai’s N700S.
The shipped cars will be delivered to Taiwan High Speed Rail in sequence through Hitachi.
