Skymark’s new 737-8 aircraft will be deployed on the Haneda-Fukuoka route. First flight is May 28.

Posted on June 28, 2026 by Editor in Chief

Skymark Airlines will enter service on May 28 with the first Boeing 737-8 (registration code: JA738A), a new aircraft.

The first flight was SKY003, departing Haneda at 07:35 for Fukuoka. For the time being, the company plans to deploy the flight on the Haneda-Fukuoka route.

The 737-8 aircraft of the 737 MAX family is the state-of-the-art aircraft that will replace the current 737-800 aircraft, and the aircraft to be introduced by Skymark will have the same number of seats, 177. The new 737-8 will be powered by CFM’s LEAP-1B engine, increasing its range from 5440 km to 6480 km, and reducing fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 15%.

The free in-flight Wi-Fi service, which is scheduled to be introduced on 737-8 aircraft, will not be provided for the time being as preparations are underway to launch the service.
