The JR East Group will hold a special event in conjunction with the “Shinshu Destination Campaign Pre-Campaign (Shinshu Pre-DC)” to be held from July 1 to September 30.
A variety of plans will be developed sequentially, including the opening of the special group train “Shiritaho Shinshu-go,” a sightseeing train that allows visitors to enjoy the food and scenery along the Koumi Line, and the “Suwa Shinano” event train jointly operated by JR Tokai and other companies.
As part of the program, the JR East View Dynamic Rail Pack, a train and lodging package reservation service, is distributing a “Know Ho Shinshu: Nagano Prefecture Accommodation Discount Coupon” that offers up to 4,000 yen off a trip to Shinshu. Applications are accepted at the View Travel website.
In addition, special rates for “Shinkansen e-Ticket (JRE POINT benefit)” and “Ticketless Express Ticket for Conventional Lines (JRE POINT benefit),” which are more economical than regular exchange points, are available for boarding between September 1 and 17.
For example, the Hokuriku Shinkansen “Asama” ordinary car reserved seat between Tokyo and Nagano can be exchanged for 4,500 pts during the special rate period, instead of the usual exchange point of 7,000 pts. The Hokuriku Shinkansen Hakutaka, Limited Express Azusa, and Limited Express Shinano/Shinshu are also eligible.
In addition, “Suica no Penguin” original goods in collaboration with long-established souvenirs from Shinshu will be sold at “NewDays” and other eki-naka stores in Nagano Prefecture.
The “Suica no Penguin Shichimi Garam Masala Can” (800 yen), created in collaboration with long-established shichimi store Nemoto Hachimanya Isogoro, and the “Suica no Penguin x Raidori no Sato Gauze Towel Can” (1600 yen), created in collaboration with the well-known Shinshu souvenir shop Raidori no Sato, are said to be of interest for their limited designs that are unique to their local area.
