On May 27, Mitsui Fudosan and Canadian multimedia studio Moment Factory, in collaboration with Pokémon International, announced a new immersive entertainment project that allows visitors to experience the real world of Pokémon as Pokémon Trainers themselves. This project is Mitsui Fudosan’s first full-scale entry into the area of “Location Based Entertainment” (LBE), which can be experienced by visiting a specific location. By combining real places, contents, and technology, the project will provide an immersive experience in which fans from around the world can enjoy adventures as Pokémon trainers while connecting with each other in the real world that represents the Pokémon worldview.
Mitsui Fudosan, which is the project owner, has positioned entertainment as one of the key growth areas in its long-term management policy “& INNOVATION 2030,” and has collaborated with Moment Factory on a project called “Light Cycle Kyoto The company has also been working with Moment Factory on “Light Cycle Kyoto,” a project to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Kyoto Botanical Garden.
Moment Factory alone has produced more than 600 immersive experiences and multimedia productions worldwide over the past 25 years, including a Christmas show at Universal Studios Japan in 2019.
