Kanonji City in Kagawa Prefecture and NEXCO West Japan Shikoku Branch will open the Kanonji Smart IC on the Takamatsu Expressway (E11) on July 4. It is a full-interchange type ETC-only system with entrances and exits on both the upper and lower lines, and operates 24 hours a day.
It is located near the middle of the Sanuki Toyonaka IC to Onohara IC of the Takamatsu Expressway, about 9.5 km north of Toyohama SA.
Since it takes less than 10 minutes from downtown Kannonji to the smart IC, access to the expressway is expected to improve, increasing the number of people interacting with the Nishisan region, reducing logistics costs, and securing alternative routes in the event of a disaster.
In addition, by giving them easy-to-understand names, the exits will be easier for first-time visitors to recognize and will contribute to the promotion of sightseeing tours around the area.
