Hotel New Awaji Group will open new luxury resort hotels on the east and west coasts of Awaji Island in January 2027.
The “Sumoto City Komoe Kaigan Hotel Project” (5-1 Shojiya, Sumoto City, Hyogo Prefecture), currently under development in the East Coast area, consists of a total of 25 rooms, all with terraces overlooking the Kitan Straits and a hot spring outdoor bath, one of which has a heated private pool and one with a sauna and heated private pool.
The six-story building will feature an open-kitchen dining area that makes the most of Awaji Island ingredients, and a guest lounge on the top floor with an open-air roof terrace.
Room rates are expected to average about 300,000 yen per room per night. The hotel will offer the group’s highest level of service to meet the needs of three-generation family travelers from the suburbs, long-stay travelers from the Tokyo metropolitan area, and foreign visitors to Japan who are expected to increase due to the internationalization of the Kobe Airport.
The “Minami Awaji-shi Keino-Matsubara Hotel Project” (970-72 Matsuho Kozuji, Minami Awaji-shi, Hyogo Prefecture), currently under development in the west coast area, is the first all-inclusive hotel in the group where food and beverage and use of in-house facilities are included in the room rate, and the average price per room per night is expected to be just under 90,000 yen.
On a site of approximately 13,000m2 facing Keino Matsubara on the west coast overlooking the Seto Inland Sea, there will be a 36-room lodging building, a dining and hot spring bath building incorporating Awaji Island ingredients, two villa-type guest rooms, and a beachside pool.
In addition to refreshing yourself in the sauna, water bath, and fitness center, you can also enjoy walking and running on the 2.5-km-long beach of white sand and green pines outside the hotel, providing a wellness stay that takes advantage of the rich climate.
