JR West Japan Via Inn will offer concept rooms themed on the 500 Series Shinkansen bullet train at Via Inn Shin-Osaka West (4-1-21 Miyahara, Yodogawa-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture) from May 1. Reservations will be accepted from April 20.
JR West’s Series 500 Shinkansen is scheduled to be retired in 2027, and the concept room will have two rooms with different settings, one from the past and one from the present, based on the theme of “recreating and experiencing the Series 500 Shinkansen as it was”.
The interior was created as a cabin that allows passengers to experience the 500 Series, with seats and back tables that were actually used, interior and new furniture that incorporate actual car designs, reproductions of train window views, reproductions of notations and stickers, and original cushions and foot throws.
The space has also been designed to enhance the immersive experience by displaying reproductions of past posters and pamphlets, and incorporating the 500 Series design not only in the guest rooms but also in the corridors.
Room rates start at 6,000 yen per person (based on double occupancy).
