Mitsui Fudosan’s fully electric passenger boat begins regular service between Nihonbashi and Toyosu. Discount fares for “trial cruise” are available until the end of May.

Mitsui Fudosan will begin regular operation of the fully electric passenger boat “Nihonbashi e-LINER” between Nihonbashi and Toyosu on April 26. The ship will make nine round trips a day on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, and will be operated by Kanko Kisen Kogyo. Advance boarding reservations will be accepted on the “Tokyo Boat Trip” website from April 15 at 3:00 p.m.

This is part of the &CRUISE boating project launched in January, and is the first regular service of a fully electric passenger boat by a private company in Japan. The service connects the Toyosu pier (Urban Dock Lalaport Toyosu) and the Nihonbashi pier (Chuo City Disaster Prevention Pier) in about 25 minutes each way, and is equipped with recharging outlets and free Wi-Fi.

Until May 31, discounted fares* will be applied as part of the new service campaign. The fare (one-way) is 900 yen for adults, 450 yen for elementary school students, and free for children under elementary school age up to the same number of adults. Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, but if there is space on the day of boarding, boarding is possible without a reservation. Cashless payment is the only method of payment on the day of the cruise.

*After June 1, boarding fee is 1,000-1,500 yen.

The Nihonbashi e-LINER’s main specifications are: overall length 17m, overall width 4m, gross tonnage approximately 17 tons, maximum commissioning output 8 knots, and passenger capacity 60. It is powered by 240 lithium-ion titanate rechargeable batteries (298.08KWh) and propelled by two permanent magnet water-cooled electric motors (90kW).
