Iwatani Corporation has released the “Cassette Fu “Tough Maru XG Jr.”, a compact model of the Tough Maru XG, a cassette stove for both indoor and outdoor use. The price is 11,000 yen.
Tough Maru is a series of cassette stove with a unique wind-shield structure that prevents flames from being extinguished by wind and is robust enough to be used with Dutch ovens. The outer part is coated with matte-textured nano-ceramic paint. The new Tough Maru XG Jr. is approximately 60% more compact, making it easier to carry and use for solo camping.
The main unit measures 286 x 193 x 122 mm, and 320 x 252 x 135 mm when the included case is stored (both in W x D x H). The Tough Maru XG Jr. can be used with cookware with a bottom diameter of 6 cm or larger, while the Tough Maru Jr. of the same size cannot be used with cookware with a bottom diameter of less than 11 cm, allowing a wide range of outdoor cooking with the small cooker.
