On April 14, Hanshin Expressway announced its efforts to convert tollgates to ETC-only after FY2026.
In FY2026, 23 tollgates are scheduled to be converted to ETC-only service from June onward; by FY2028, a total of 100 tollgates will be converted to ETC-only service, and by the end of FY2030, all but a few tollgates, such as mainline tollgates, will be ETC-only. As of April 2026, there are 51 tollgates that are operating ETC-only tollgates.
