Vocalist Kotone’s Music Trip] Comfortable Camping in Nagano in Spring! Refreshing trip to taste mountains, lakes, and spring flavors!

Posted on April 28, 2026 by Editor in Chief

Camping with a spectacular view overlooking the Central Alps This time, since it was Nagano in April, we decided to sleep in the car because we thought it would be cold at night, so we did not bring a tent but only a tarp for a simple setup. Our current car has rails to carry luggage and other items, so we attached the tarp securely to the rails and connected it directly to the car. Camp Farm Inaka no Kaze, which overlooks the Central Alps, has one of the best views of all the campgrounds we have been to. I think you can enjoy a spacious view from any of the sites on the Chuo Alps side. You could choose your own site to some extent at the time of reservation, so it might be a good idea to reserve the site of your choice. We immediately started the barbecue by grilling the vegetables we had bought over an open fire. All the vegetables tasted so good just by grilling them and sprinkling salt on them! I drank “Shinshu Suwa Roman”, a local beer, while sharing it with my husband, and we were full in no time. It should have actually taken longer since we were grilling and eating, but time flies and soon it was 10:00 pm. If I were in Tokyo, 10:00 p.m. would still be early, but in this pitch-dark natural setting, it already feels like midnight. We were able to sleep soundly in the car with a camping mattress on the floor without feeling cold. The next morning, my husband got up at 5:00 a.m. to start the campfire. I took my time and slept soundly until about 8 am. This morning we had breakfast of eggs, venison sausage, and raisin bread. This venison sausage is not peculiar at all, and the spices and herbs are very stylish and delicious! The weather was fine for both days, and we didn’t feel the cold, so it didn’t feel too different from Tokyo. We grilled and ate a variety of foods in the morning, and although we have been eating since yesterday, it was an enjoyable meal time with a lot of delicious and impressive food. The deer shank was tender and full of flavor without any peculiarities, and the wild vegetables tickled my nostrils with the bitter taste of spring and the fresh breeze. Both tastes were unique to this region.

After enjoying nature, we went sightseeing. After checking out Inaka no Kaze after being healed by the great nature, we first headed to “Kaze no Tani: Picture Book Museum” not far from the hotel. Here you can read many picture books and enjoy lunch and drinks. The log house that the director and his wife spent 10 years building has a high ceiling and is very nice. There is also an attic room, which is also very exciting. Not all of the picture books are for children, but there are many that are not suitable for older elementary school students, and many that are deeply thought-provoking for adults as well. If you take your children there, they will probably enjoy it even more. Here I ordered a spiced tea and my husband ordered an apple juice without ice, and we both read the same book and discussed our impressions.
