TENTIAL, the latest in recovery wear, BAKUNE Dry Pro. Breathability and contact cooling sensation plus reduced summer sleeping difficulties.

Posted on April 28, 2026 by Editor in Chief

On April 21, TENTIAL held its spring/summer exhibition “Potential Conference ’26 SS” in Tokyo, where it unveiled the latest addition to its “BAKUNE” series of recovery wear, the BAKUNE Dry Pro.

BAKUNE Dry Pro is a model that claims to be “the highest in the brand’s history,” specializing in “coolness” and “ease of turning over” in the hot and humid summer sleeping environment, in addition to the conventional “recover from fatigue just by putting on and sleeping” effect. This model claims to be “the best in the brand’s history. The price is 27,940 yen for a set of short sleeves and short pants, and 29,920 yen for a set of long sleeves and long pants.

Available in four colors (black, dark gray, glaze, and dark green) and in sizes S, M, L, XL, and 2XL, it will be carried on the official TENTIAL website, major EC sites, and some mass retailers from May 7.

BAKUNE is a series of general medical device pajamas that radiates far-infrared rays emitted from the body to promote blood circulation and support recovery from fatigue. The standard product, BAKUNE Dry, is made of a quick-drying material that does not leave a residue on the skin even when sweating during sleep, and is characterized by its light and comfortable feel. The latest product, “BAKUNE Dry Pro,” is a further updated version of this product, adding breathability, moisture absorption and desorption, and contact cooling sensation.

The unique structure of the material, which combines the special functional fiber “nylon SELFLAME” and smooth-feeling rayon, has made it 2.4 times more breathable than cotton material and 1.3 times more moisture absorbing and desorbent than cotton material. Since heat inside the garment is efficiently released, summer sleeping difficulties and steamy, sticky feeling due to perspiration are reduced.

In addition, while general apparel is designed for the standing posture, this product is designed for the sleeping posture. The company has focused on the fact that uneven distortion of the fabric is a factor in difficulty of movement, and has reduced the distortion of the garment during turning movements by 91% compared to the normal garment structure.

Six years after its launch, the company’s flagship BAKUNE series has sold a cumulative total of more than 4 million units. Yutaro Nakanishi, CEO and representative director of the company, who took the stage at the presentation, spoke about the role of recovery wear and the direction the brand is aiming for, saying that the company wants to pursue “improvement of good sleep itself” rather than merely promoting blood circulation and relieving fatigue.

Recovery wear is a growing market these days, and while there are many low-priced products that are easily accessible and popular, TENTIAL’s BAKUNE is a high-end line, priced in the 20,000-yen range for a top and bottom set. Mr. Nakanishi explained that this is because TENTIAL manages everything in-house, including manufacturing, sales, checking of expressions and education based on the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law. He explained that the company has a system in place to fulfill its responsibilities as a company that handles medical devices, and that the pricing reflects the associated management costs.

Since the company was started with a small capital base, it did not take a cost-cutting approach through mass production, but instead has focused from the beginning on providing products that are “firmly effective and satisfy customers. For this reason, the company has many fans among athletes and businesspersons who are particular about their daily physical condition and performance improvement, and sales from existing customers have increased by approximately 86% over the previous year.

Mr. Nakanishi, who himself had his dream of becoming a professional soccer player cut short by illness in the past, believes that “if you are not healthy, you cannot even take on challenges.” Through products such as BAKUNE, he hopes to convey the importance of daily physical conditioning to both athletes and business people alike.

He also said that the company aims to build an “ecosystem” in which knowledge gained in the field of sports, including collaboration with WBC Samurai Japan, is returned to products for the general public, and the profits from these products are invested back into the sports industry.
