I stayed at Rakuten STAY VILLA Hakone Gora, where you can see Daimonjiyaki right in front of you. All 20 rooms are maisonette rooms where you can soak in the hot spring anytime.

Rakuten Stay, Inc. held the grand opening of “Rakuten STAY VILLA Hakone Gora” (1320-299 Gora, Hakone-cho, Ashigarashita-gun, Kanagawa Prefecture) on April 23. Prior to the grand opening, a limited number of rooms were available from March 25 as a pre-opening event, and the reporter had an opportunity to stay for a trial stay.

The Rakuten STAY brand features a variety of facilities, including detached houses, garage houses, and villas, based on the theme of unique lodging experiences with a difference.

In the Hakone area, which has many tourist attractions such as hot springs and views of Mt. Rakuten STAY VILLA Hakone Togendai,” and “Rakuten STAY FUJIMI TERRACE Hakone Ashinoko,” and this will be the seventh facility.

The facility is a 7-minute walk from Gora Station on the Hakone Tozan Railway and Hakone Tozan Cable Car, making it accessible without using a private car or bus. The location is perfect for Hakone tours using the Hakone Free Pass, which allows unlimited rides on eight different vehicles in the Hakone area.

The actual walking time from Gora Station this time was a little over 6 minutes by the reporter’s feet. The paved path is easy to walk, but there is a slight uphill slope, so it may take a little more time if you are carrying a large baggage, but it is not a hardship.

However, the area around the inn, as well as near the train station, is limited to souvenir shops and cafes, making daily shopping difficult. There are vending machines for food and beverages on the premises, but if you have a preference, it is better to buy in advance. Convenience stores are located near Hakone Gora Park, a short distance from Gora Station (*7:00-22:00) and near the Sculpture Forest Station (*24 hours).
