Hanshin Expressway has announced traffic congestion forecasts for the Golden Week period (April 25-May 6).

The peak in the Hyogo area is forecast to be between May 1 and 5, and the peak in the Osaka area between April 30 and May 1 in the middle of the month.

Heavy traffic congestion is forecasted especially on the Route 3 Kobe Route, and is expected to peak on the Route 3 Kobe Route (westbound) in the direction of Himeji between 6:00 and 16:00 on May 2 and 3 near Tarumi JCT and Mukogawa on the Route 5 Wangan Route (Tarumi Route). On both days, the longest traffic jam length may reach approximately 36 km around 11:00.

On the other hand, traffic congestion on the Route 3 Kobe Route (eastbound) in the Osaka direction is expected to peak between 9:00 and 23:00 on May 4 and between 9:00 and 25:00 on May 5 near Ashiya and the Daini-Shinmei Road junction. The maximum traffic jam length is expected to be approximately 23 km around 17:00 on May 4 and 23 km around 16:00 on May 5.

The company recommends that you check the traffic congestion forecast before using the route and use the Route 7 North Kobe Route, etc., where traffic congestion can be partially avoided. The company also offers various discounts, such as city center detour discounts and late-night discounts, so please consider taking these routes as well.
