Glamping at Akazawa Onsen and one of the largest play areas in Izu with my family.

Posted on April 28, 2026 by Editor in Chief

Glamping area for comfort even in bad weather The glamping area “GRAX EARTH FIELD,” which opened on April 27, is a glamping facility consisting of 32 dome sites. The area is divided into three types: “Garden Area,” “Sky View Area,” and “Wildwood Area,” each with a different atmosphere. Some sites are equipped with fire pits, and if needed, it is recommended to request one at the time of reservation. All rooms are equipped with one electric cart, which can be used from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. the following day. It is nice to be able to easily move to another area. A driver’s license is required. The site features a dining area with a toilet, washroom, and shower room directly connected to the dome tent and dining area. The toilet and shower rooms are highly convenient, even for glamping. Meals are prepared in the dining space. Although the feeling of being outdoors is somewhat diminished since the rooms are not outdoors, the air-conditioned rooms are comfortable, and it is very convenient to be able to enjoy barbecues regardless of weather conditions, such as rain. Meals range from grilled meats and sausages to dishes that make the most of fresh Izu seafood purchased through a partnership with a fishing cooperative. A booklet given to guests upon check-in provides cooking instructions and advice on how to use the equipment and which dishes to prepare first, making dinner preparation a smooth process.

Guests can also play in the lounge. The “GRAX CENTER,” where check-in procedures are conducted, and the “GRAX LOUNGE,” a lounge exclusively for guests, are incidental facilities for the exclusive use of guests. To get to the GRAX CENTER, take the facility’s free shuttle bus from Izu-Kogen Station, get off at the nearest bus stop in front of “Deep Sea Water Akazawa Spa,” and walk about 5 minutes. In the evening, visitors can enjoy free alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as “Kata Lounge Time. In addition to free alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, simple snacks can be enjoyed at Gracchus Lounge. Family-friendly contents such as billiards, table tennis, air field hockey, and darts are available after check-out.
