Taiheiyo Ferry introduced “Ferry Wi-Fi” on its Tomakomai-Sendai-Nagoya route on April 6. The service will first be offered on the ferry Kitakami (Tomakomai-Sendai), and will be introduced on the Ishikari-Kiso (Tomakomai-Sendai-Nagoya) route sequentially from June.

Ferry Wi-Fi is an onboard Internet connection service by KDDI and Wire and Wireless using satellite communication Starlink, with a bandwidth of up to 220 Mbps. The fee is 1,500 yen (available for up to 24 hours), but au users can connect for free.

Ferry Wi-Fi access is available in public spaces on Decks 6 and 7, but not in cabins.
