Kinki Nippon Railway, Kintetsu Miyako Hotels, and Kintetsu Retailing have decided that the new sightseeing train “Les Saveurs Shima” will begin service on November 1 this fall and sales will start on September 1, and have announced details such as travel prices, operation schedule, and symbol mark.
Les Saveurs Shima is a restaurant train with the theme “Gastronomy invites you on an elegant train journey. Two types of meals will be offered: a French course supervised by Hiroe Higuchi, Executive Chef of Shima Kanko Hotel, and a French meal prepared by Kintetsu Miyako Hotels.
The French course is 33,000 yen on weekdays and 36,000 yen on weekends and holidays. French course is 19,000 yen on weekdays, 21,000 yen on weekends and holidays. The fare includes a train ticket for the Kintetsu Nagoya-Free Zone (between Ise City and Kenshima), food, welcome drink, after-meal drink, and applicable taxes. All 50 seats are reserved seats (No. 1 and No. 2 are French course seats and No. 4 is French course seat).
The schedule is one round trip per day, six days a week (seven days a week depending on the season), with stops at Kintetsu Nagoya, Ise-shi, Ujiyamada, Isuzugawa, Toba, Ukata, and Kenshima. The French Course is available only from Kintetsu Nagoya to Ukata/Kenshima on the down train, and from Kenshima/Ugata to Kintetsu Nagoya on the up train.
The November/December service is scheduled to go on sale through the website from September 1, and information on how to purchase tickets will be announced on the special website in the near future. In addition, from May, travel products incorporating “Les Saveurs Shima” will be released through travel agencies such as Club Tourism.
The newly unveiled symbol mark, which superimposes the landscape of Ago Bay (Rias coast) over the image of a dish, was designed to symbolize a train that offers French cuisine incorporating seafood.
