English-style garden “Peter Rabbit English Garden” opens on April 11. Fuji Motosuko Resort

Posted on April 12, 2026 by Editor in Chief

Fuji Motosuko Resort (212 Motosu, Fujikawaguchiko-machi, Minamitsuru-gun, Yamanashi Prefecture) will open its English-style garden, Peter Rabbit English Garden, in conjunction with the “2026 Fuji Shibazakura Festival” to be held from April 11. It will be open from April 11 to November 23.

It is one of the largest English-style gardens in the Tokyo metropolitan area, supervised by British garden designer Mark Chapman, and is planted with approximately 300 varieties of plants and flowers under the theme of “Peter Rabbit’s Story,” a picture book set in the Lake District in England.

This year, 36 varieties of tulips, daffodils, lilies, bluebells, muscari, etc., donated by the International Bulb Society of the Netherlands, will be added to the garden, making it an even more colorful scene than usual.

There is also a photo spot featuring Peter Rabbit and “Kitten Tom,” whose flowers change with the seasons, as well as an outdoor gallery with pieces of “Ohanashi no Kakera,” a series of 23 picture books, all of which are scattered throughout the park.

The store sells original plush toys (3,800 yen), mugs with tea strainers (2,500 yen), Peter Rabbit flake key chains with peaches and grapes (1,100 yen), and other limited edition goods.

At the attached café, visitors can enjoy original menu items such as “Uncle McGregor’s Fresh Vegetable Bouquet Salad,” which is arranged like a cute bouquet of flowers.

Admission to Peter Rabbit English Garden is free during the Fuji Shiba Cherry Blossom Festival in the spring and the Rainbow Blossom Festival in the fall, and free during the rest of the year.
