JR companies announced the reservation status of reserved seats for trains operating during Golden Week in 2026.
The number of reserved seats reserved by the six JR companies for the 13-day period from April 24 to May 6 is as follows as of April 9. The number of seats supplied and the number of reserved seats for both Shinkansen and conventional lines exceeded the previous year.
Looking at the days when reservations are concentrated by each company, the peak day for down trains is May 2, and the peak day for up trains is May 5. JR East commented, “On May 2, each Shinkansen train is almost fully booked until late afternoon,” and JR Tokai said, “Nozomi and Hikari trains departing Tokyo Station in the morning on May 2 are crowded.
