Ryohin Keikaku, a MUJI company, will release three new items from its sunscreen series on April 8. Prices range from 890 yen to 990 yen. They will be available at MUJI stores nationwide and online.
For the spring/summer 2026 season, the company is introducing colored milk made with 100% naturally derived ingredients, and powder and mist products for reapplication on the go, so that users can choose the best product for their needs and situations. Powders and mists for reapplication on the go will be available.
This article will introduce the products, including my impressions of the actual products I tried at the “Daily Necessities for a Comfortable Summer” hands-on information session held on April 2.
The “Tone Up Sunscreen Milk” (50g, 990 yen) is available in two colors: light beige/clear pink. The effectiveness rating is SPF40, PA+++, and the product is suitable for light outdoor sports and leisure activities.
The light beige is recommended for people of all genders who are concerned about uneven skin tone and dullness, while the clear pink is recommended for those who want to supplement their blood color. The light beige color can be washed off with soap and is UV absorbent free.
It also contains ceramide and five types of amino acids (alanine, arginine, sodium glutamate, serine, and proline) as moisturizing ingredients. While moisturizing, the product does not have a sticky texture characteristic of sunscreen, making it suitable for use on the neck and arms.
Sebum Odor Prevention Sunscreen Powder (5.5g, 990 yen), which is convenient for fixing makeup on the go, is available in limited quantities. The effectiveness rating is SPF50+ and PA++++, and it is recommended to be used in combination with sunscreen milk or gel.
It contains powder that absorbs sebum and reduces shine, ceramide and five amino acids (alanine, arginine, glutamic acid sodium, serine, and proline) as moisturizing ingredients. The product is UV absorber-free and contains no pearlescent material, and when I used it on the back of my hand, it showed almost no color.
In addition to the included puff, it is compatible with a small loose powder puff (350 yen for 2 pcs.), sold separately. The small size (4-5 cm in diameter) makes it perfect for outings where you want to carry as little as possible.
The “Sunscreen Mist” (70 mL, 890 yen), which, like the powder, is SPF50+/PA++++ and also water-resistant, can be used on the face and body as well as hair. The mist was quite fine and not too sticky. It is alcohol-free, but when using it on the face, do not spray it directly; instead, take it in your hand once and spread it on.
Like other items, it can be washed off with soap and contains ceramide and five amino acids (alanine, arginine, glutamic acid sodium, serine, and proline) as moisturizing ingredients. The mist type (gas-free) is easy to carry and can be used at theme parks in summer.
