Yugawara Onsen Hot Springs began accepting applications for lottery sales of “Yugawara Onsen Smile Coupons,” which offer discounts at member lodging facilities, at 12:00 pm on April 2, 2012.
This year, each coupon is worth 1,000 yen in local gift certificates that can be used at participating restaurants and retail stores in the town.
The first 3,000 tickets will be available for sale, and if there are too many applications, a lottery will be held; a maximum of six tickets per person may be applied for, with a maximum of three tickets available per person per night.
The first step in the procedure is to accept applications on the dedicated website from April 2, 12:00 to April 12, 23:59. After that, the results of the selection will be announced at 10:00 a.m. on April 17, followed by the payment and ticketing period until 11:59 p.m. on April 20. Payment can be made with a multi-copy machine installed in FamilyMart stores nationwide or by credit card. The actual period during which the coupons can be used to stay at the hotel is from April 18 to October 18.
Reservations can be made through any method, including the official website and travel agencies, but you must select “local payment” and inform the facility of your intention to use the coupon in advance.
