Universal Studios Japan will hold its 25th anniversary event “Discover U! (Discover U!!!)” to celebrate its 25th anniversary. In conjunction with this event, the menu at the “Studio Tours Restaurant,” which has been in operation since its opening, has been fully renewed. The concept of a “movie studio cafeteria” has been maintained, but the menu has been updated to include a variety of American dishes.
The “Studio Stars 25th Anniversary Special Plate” (25,000 yen), commemorating the 25th anniversary, is limited in time and quantity. It will take 30-40 minutes to be served. The set menu is perfect for special occasions and includes a wild, bone-in super-sized steak as the main dish, an onion ring tower, a pile of potatoes dripping with cheese sausage, and hot vegetables. Soup, bread, and drinks are included for four people, so it is recommended to share the meal with a family or group.
Other dishes on offer include meaty dishes such as the “Studio Stars BLT Burger Plate” (2,500 yen) and “Chicken Leg Curry Plate” (2,500 yen), and the “Clam Chowder Gratin Plate” (2,200 yen), which can be ordered for a light lunch or dinner.
After the photo shoot, the reporter also tried the clam chowder. The bread crumbs on the surface were large and crispy, and the inside was filled with a thick, melting white sauce and sticky penne.
The dessert lineup includes “NY Cheesecake – Lemon & S’mores” (900 yen) topped with plenty of meringue and baked marshmallows, “The American Cherry Pie” (900 yen), and the restaurant’s color drink “Studio Stars Lemonade” (650 yen). The lemonade has a refreshing appearance and flavor, so be sure to order it with a hearty meat dish.
