JR East Cross Station Foods Company will open “TOKYO STATION CAFE -THE NORTH DOME-” (1-9-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) in the Marunouchi North Dome of JR Tokyo Station on April 21.
The café was created in a space that was once used as a waiting room for ticket gate exits when Tokyo Station was completed in 1914, and offers a sense of the historical texture of the Marunouchi Station building. With the concept of “a space to savor time and enjoy culture,” the café features an octagonal ceiling unique to Tokyo Station, custom-made carpeting, and symbolic seats, creating a one-of-a-kind space away from the ordinary.
The café will offer parfaits (available until June 21) in collaboration with the “Karl Walther Exhibition” currently being held at the adjacent Tokyo Station Gallery, as well as a menu of Western dishes that have become part of Japan’s unique culinary culture, along with the world’s three major teas.
